SPECIFICATIONS
Raw Materials and Resourses
Cement: The cement used in the manufacturing of the paving blocks is type II, a combination of sulfate resistance cement and ordinary Portland cement unless specified, for purely SRC in accordance with 400-420 kg/cm3.
Aggregates: The aggregates used in the manufacturing of paving blocks are from crushed rocks and from approved sources, conforming to the requirements of BS882, and are free from harmful substances such as coal, mica, clay etc tested according to BS812 standard. Coarse aggregates and fine aggregates are used in defined proportions to get maximum density of the block. The ratio generally falls in between 1:3, Coarse to fine aggregates. Water absorption for coarse aggregates shall be maximum 1.5% and for fine aggregates shall be 2.5%.
Water: The water used for producing and for curing paving blocks is potable drinking water supplied by local municipal authorities, which is free from salts and silicates.
Pigments: The pigments used are dry, soft and free of any harmful chemical compounds, and are a maximum of 10% to cement weight.
Admixtures: Admixtures are added to the concrete to enhance the quality and properties of concrete complying BS575.

Physical And Mechanical Properties:
The average bulk density: 2.375 T/m3. The minimum bulk density: 2.330 T/m3.
The average compressive strength is 49 N/mm2. The minimum compressive strength of each block is 40 N/mm2.
Water absorption as per the ASTM CI 40.5% absorption after 10minutes, 7% absorption after 24 hours immersion in water.
Dimensional Tolerances:
The length and width not more than +/- 1.6 mm, and the height not more than +/- 3.2 mm.
